Directing Work

Normal People

A modern take on individuals that indentify with cultures that currently aren't widely accepted as the general norm.  The play seeks to normalize the queer population by highlighting members of the LGBTQIA+ dealing common issues from commitment and career troubles to more uncommon problems like drug addiction. The goal is for the audience to almost forget about the character's sexualities and differences and focus on these people dealing with universal issues to hopefully influence a more effortless idea of equality.

Nutella

"Nutella" is a 10-minute play that takes place during the "Me Too" movement. Jonas has a romantic night planned, but  in an effort to make boundaries crystal clear  his boyfriend Glenn insists on using digital contracts to document all "proof of consent." This leads to a heated argument between the two. Will Glenns dependence on technology lead to a breakup?

The Last days of Judas Iscariot

I had the pleasure of assisting Kyle Fabel on this production. The Last Days of Judas Iscariot is a hilarious, dramatic, thought-provoking work by Pulitzer-prize winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis. The play asks one of the most plaguing questions in the Christian ideology: What happened to Judas Iscariot? Set in a courtroom in Purgatory, The Last Days puts Judas’ case to a hilarious, riotous, piercing trial, the results of which are sure to make the inhabitants of Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory — and the audience — reconsider what each thought they knew about forgiveness, faith, and the human inside one of history’s most infamous figures.
We did an immersive take on the play at the Church of the Village in downtown Manhattan.

I had the pleasure of Assistant Directing Kyle Fabel on Cole Porter's Kiss Me Kate!

Divorced Broadway stars Fred Graham and Lilli Vanessi agree to star in a musical adaptation of William Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew" alongside rising young actors Lois Lane and Bill Calhoun. Backstage complications pile up due to a romantic misunderstanding between Fred and the soon-to-be-remarried Lilli, while Bill's gambling debts cause a pair of lunkheaded mobsters to become part of the show.
The production was choreographed by Darrell Moultrie and starred the Junior and Senior class of The New Studio on Broadway at the Tisch School of Drama at NYU.

Kiss Me Kate

Fabuloso

I had the opportunity to join Kyle Fabel once again on the New York premiere of John Kolvenbach's Fabuloso Off-Broadway at Theatre Row.
Kate and Teddy are living a mundane life in a mundane marriage. When Arthur, a piece of Teddy’s past, appears on their doorstep with his fiancé, Samantha, the mundane is transformed into something fabuloso.
What can you do when unexpected guests move in? Blissfully chaotic and heartfelt, Fabuloso is a show about the family you didn’t know you had.
